Got Milk?

I cannot get enough milk. I have been craving it like crazy. I am not a big milk drinker so this really weird for me. I have made sure I have been getting plenty of calcium in my diet during my pg, but still really don't drink much milk unless I am eating chocolate or have some chocolate milk. I have never really liked the taste of plain milk. Well that has all changed in the last week, I love the taste of milk and I cannot get enough of it. I know the baby needs more calcium at the end of pg, so maybe that has kicked in. I wonder if plain milk will still taste good to me after the baby comes.

Everything is still going good. Yesterday was our last childbirth class. It was an interesting class, but so much of what was talked about seemed like common sense to me. It was beneficial for us to go and I am feeling more confident of getting a epidural if I need one. We also got a lot of free stuff which is always fun.

Yesterday was a rougher day for me than normal. I was aching a lot and couldn't seem to move in anyway to relieve the pain. I was even started to wonder if I was having contractions, but I think maybe the baby dropped and was just putting a lot of pressure on my pelvis. I am not sure though, because I don't look like I am carrying any lower and it seems too early for the baby to have dropped. Maybe my dr. will have some ideas next week at my appt. I guess the baby could have been sitting in a different position. Everything feels better today, so I am not too worried about it. I also haven't been able to sleep comfortably for the past two days, hopefully I can figure something out to help with that. I hate being tired in the morning, but I guess it is preparing me for a newborn.

Only 10 more weeks

It's crazy to think about. I really am getting close to meeting this little guy. Someone asked me the other day if I was ready for my pg to be over. I have to say that I enjoy being pg. Everything has gone so smoothly. I know by the very end, I may be hoping for it to end, but I do not wish for it to be over. I do want this baby in my arms soon, though. March isn't that far away, and I can wait that long to meet him. The baby kicks me a lot now, so that gives me a lot of reassurance that he is doing ok in there. I have an appt in a couple of weeks and then I will start going every 2 weeks. I really feel like these last 10 weeks will fly by, although everyone always says that the last trimester is the longest. We will see.

Mike and I started the childbirth classes that the hospital offers last Monday. We will go once a week for the rest of the month. It was interesting, but both of us felt like we already knew most of what the instructor talked about. Hopefully the other classes will be more informative to us. We think they will because she is going to talk about relaxation techniques during labor, combining different methods. Also we will get to tour the hospital and see a birth video. I am also interested in what she has to say about epidurals. I am still not sure if I want to have one or not.

School started for Mike and I and so far everything has gone well. I think for both of us, this semester will go smoothly. Or at least that is what I am hoping. Mike doesn't seem to have as many papers to write this semester, so hopefully that will allow him to have more time for other things, although I am sure he will still be quite busy. So far it has not been difficult for me to walk across campus to my classes. It is probably doing me good to get that little bit of exercise in. We will see how it goes when I am 8 and 9 months pg, but I am not really that worried about it. My biggest fear is having my water break either in class or walking to class. I guess it would be a funny story later if it did happen.

I was reading my pg calender today and it says that the baby should be measuring around 17 inches and around 3lbs. My first thought was that was about how long the twins were when they were born. They weighed a little more than that though. I don't remember how far a long T was when the twins were born. I know they came early but can't remember how early, I will have to look back on my blog and see if I made a note of it. It's crazy to think that the twins will be one year olds at the time our baby is born. I wish I knew how they were doing, Lucky too.

2007

Well, 2007 is here. The year our baby will be born. It's seems like a while since I last blogged. Mike and I had a wonderful holiday visiting with family. We hope to be able to make it back next summer, so that everyone can see the new baby, but we will have to see. While we were in SL, Maia (our niece on the way) was almost born. Mike's sister, Vicki, is not due until the end of January, but Vicki is ready for the pg to be over. Hopefully she can hold off for a little longer, but soon she will be here, and our baby will have another cousin really close in age. It will be fun. Also Mike and I met our new nephews, Toby and Tank. They are adorable babies, and I just know they will be so big the next time we see them. It is fun to think our little one will have 3 cousins very close in age to him.

I feel the baby move a lot more often now. It is so fun to feel so much movement. It is hard to imagine ever getting sick of feeling the baby move inside of me. I am sure I will miss that the most when I am no longer pg. Mike has felt him move more too. Although only a few times when he gave a really good kick. This little guy does have a good kick as sometimes it feels like my whole belly wants to detach from my body. I can't wait to meet this little guy. I love being pg, but can't wait to hold my baby in my arms.

I am officially in the third trimester, which is crazy to even think about. I have an appt this Friday. I am nervous about how much weight I have gained. I feel really big, and I know I didn't have the best eating habits over the holidays. Oh well, I am committed to losing it after the baby comes, so I am trying not to worry about it too much now. We got some more baby stuff for Christmas which is so fun. I don't want anyone to throw us another shower, since we already had one during the adoption process, but it is so fun to get baby stuff. I plan to go through all our baby clothes this week, and box up all the girl stuff and pull out all the boy stuff. That should be fun. I also need to organize the nursery. There are only a few things that I feel like we need to get before baby comes. I can't believe how close I really am.
